“Your Customers Are Looking For You, They Just CAN’T Find You On Google!”
Why should your site be on page one of Google?
Let me ask you this simple question: “When was the last time you grabbed that “Good ‘ol Yellow Pages”, dusted it off and began searching for something?” (If you could remember where you had put it).
You see the days of Yellow Pages are over. People want results and they want results FAST, that’s why Google and the other Search Engines are so popular today!
Now we’re not suggesting that you will never get any new customers or sales from the Yellow pages; however, we are suggesting that today’s buyers are more inclined to start up an Internet browser and open their favourite Search Engine to find what they are looking for.
It’s also important to note: “If you are in the Yellow Pages, then you have to be IN the Yellow Pages!” Your Advert MUST stand out from you competitors.
A typical Yellow Pages section could have over 100, one line listings and mix of monochrome and full colour adverts.
When it comes to the Yellow Pages, size does matter! Accurate or not, the size of your Yellow Pages display ad may directly impact the perception of your business and its size in the mind of your customers. A competitor’s half or full page ad that runs next to your business card-size ad gives a subconscious impression that the business with the larger ad is the better and more established of the two.
And what about the costs?
Free, if you’re purchasing a line ad. But the cost of display ads varies from city to city. In Manhattan, New York, a small, one-inch space listing would cost you about $2,500, and you could pay as much as $92,000 for a full-page display ad. But that same one-inch space listing in Manhattan, Kansas, would cost just $252, and a full-page display ad would be about $11,200.
Here’s something else to consider.
Once you have placed your advert in the Yellow pages it remains there until the next “run” is produced; this means you do not have any control on your advert. You can’t tweak it to improve results, you can’t test different headlines or sales copy and you certainly can’t promote your latest “sale” or “promotion”.
A report called “Say Goodbye to Yellow Pages” was done in July 2008 by Borrell Associates. This report estimated that the Yellow Pages industry will lose 38.9% of its revenue over the next five years because smaller businesses are focusing more on online advertising. It was expected that in 2008, the print annual revenue was $12.7 billion. This is forecasted to decrease to $7.8 billion in 2013.
Everyday we are hearing stories of more and more people moving away from Yellow Pages as an advertising medium or at the very least reducing their ad-spend.
You Simply Have To Use The Power Of The Internet In Todays Economy!
“Will getting my website ranked on page one of Google really make that much difference?”
We get asked this question daily and we’ve found the best way of answering this is to show you not only our test results but the test results of others.
Below you will find a graph showing the results of an exhaustive test carried out by a company called “justsearching”.
Before studying the graph, we’ve pulled together these key factors for you to consider:
So what are the results? What does being ranked #1 as opposed to #10 mean to your website traffic?
According to a well known search engines results, if you rank position #10 and received approximately 157,000 clicks, you can expect an increase of over 1,968,000 clicks. That’s almost 2 million extra visitors for ranking #1, an increase of 1,400%!!!
Obviously if your traffic levels are more modest, and you only receive 200 visits per month for being ranked #10 in Google you can still expect a 1,400% increase for being ranked #1 – which would take your 200 visitors per month to a more profitable 2,800. A huge increase I’m sure you’ll agree.
This table will show you how much traffic you can expect for each first page placement on Google compared with ranking #1
| Ranking Position | Traffic Level | |
| #1 | Ranking Position 1 | |
| #2 | 3.5 times less than #1 | |
| #3 | 4.9 times less than #1 | |
| #4 | 6.9 times less than #1 | |
| #5 | 8.5 times less than #1 | |
| #6 | 10.4 times less than #1 | |
| #7 | 12.3 times less than #1 | |
| #8 | 14 times less than #1 | |
| #9 | 14.8 times less than #1 (the worst place to rank on page 1) | |
| #10 | 14.1 times less than #1 |
The graph below shows the number of clicks for the top 10 positions for a highly searched phrase. It’s clearly evident from this that ranking #1 produces excellent results as opposed to the other placements on the front page.

So the evidence is clear, “ranking on the first page of Google for your chosen keywords will vastly improve your traffic as opposed to ranking on the second or third pages”.
Google understand the benefits of top placement ranking and have themselves invested heavily in their research activities.
(Yeah we know the video went to a black screen; we just enjoy the music)
But it’s not just Google you need to concern yourself with.

The Search Engine landscape has changed over the last few months and things are going to change further.
We’ve seen the re-branding of MSN to bing with a much improved search engine offering and if that wasn’t enough to worry Google; it was announced that bing and Yahoo were to join forces to provide a real threat to Google’s market dominance.

So why should this concern you and the many other million company owners who use Google as a method to drive FREE traffic to their businesses and of course profits?
Well; for Google to remain “king of the hill” they have begun to put in-place stringent quality scoring mechanisms, advanced algorithms and even released a new Search Engine; (codename “Caffeine”).
Google understands the importance of the Search Engines, more importantly they understand the “needs” of their customers and do all in their power to ensure their customers get the best possible “Search” experience… This boils down to; “Relevant, targeted search results in the quickest possible time”.
To achieve this they have built a robust algorithm that will ignore any search result if there is the slightest ambiguity.
The new Google Caffeine has been impressive in bench-tests and so has bing; both of whom have introduced “live” search in response to the Search Engine features of Facebook and Twitter. Yes social networking is this powerful, so powerful in fact, the the two largest corporate behemoths have been forced to make radical changes to their core business strategies.
“What impact will this have on my business?”
To be brutally blunt; unless your website has been fully optimised you will never get the full ROI (return on investment) from your online activities. You may as well throw all of your online marketing budget down the drain it’s that “black and white”.
The SEO experts job has been made increasingly difficult and some of the “old school” are struggling to keep up with these radical changes.
The algorithm’s used are definitely different and have more reliance on keyword strings to produce better results.
“We saw the writing on the wall”.
Fortunately; we are on the “front line” when it comes to SEO and are “privy” to many closed door discussions regarding the ever evolving Search Engine World.
We use this information and combine it with our own in-house tests to produce an SEO system that will stand up to this aggressive quest by Google and bing to provide only the “best” results for their most valuable assets; their customers.
By investing our time and energy testing, tweaking and testing even more; we can offer you, our customers, a robust and timely solution to achieving “organic” Search Engine Results; results that will produce favourable views from the Major and the minor Search Engines, ensuring an increase in website visitors, a better “web” experience and a solid ROI.
